Following last Sunday’s impressive outing which saw them held Plateau United to a scoreless draw in match week 33 of Nigeria Professional Football League (NPFL) in Jos, Niger Tornadoes’ head coach Majin Mohammed is now aiming for victory in their next match.
The Ikon Allah Boys will host Kwara United in what promises to be a thriller going by the form of both teams. While the visitors have enjoyed six unbeaten runs, since losing to Shooting of Ibadan on the 3rd of April, the hosts have proved to be invincible at home after their disappointing home defeat by NPFL leaders, Enugu Rangers International on March 3, 2024..
Coach Majin Mohammed will, however be banking on the midfield qualities of Sunday Anthony and Nenrot Silas who torn in the flesh for Plateau United in the week 33 fixture, as well as the rock defense, marshaled by Alex Emeka, Silvester Bell, Godwin Alex, and Abba Khalid to carry the day.
Speaking with ThisNigeria on phone from Minna ahead of the clash, Mohammed said anything shot of victory will disappointing.
“Of course our target on Sunday is to record a win because our aim is to finish the league in a very good position. I’ll be disappointed should we fail to come out victorious in the match, especially at home.
“I’m looking forward to a very tough opposition from Kwara United. They are a very good side and their performances in recently NPFL matches speak for them. We’ll approach the game with the same winning mentality playing at home,” said.
