The England Football Association has condemned football fans for racially abusing three black England players over the country’s loss to Italy at the 2020 European Championship final.

Marcus Rashford, Jadon Sancho, and Bukayo Saka suffered racist abuse after England’s 3-2 loss to Italy on Sunday.

The trio’s social media accounts were full of racist comments.

The FA released an official statement saying; “Disgusting behavior.

“Social media companies need to step up and take accountability and action to ban abusers from their platforms, gather evidence that can lead to prosecution and support making their platforms free from this type of abhorrent abuse.”

England’s PM Boris Johnson also condemned the attack saying;

“This England team deserves to be lauded as heroes, not racially abused on social media.

“Those responsible for this appalling abuse should be ashamed of themselves”.

England boss, Gareth Southgate said; “It’s my decision who takes the penalties, it’s not a case of players not volunteering or more experienced players backing out.”
