FCT Police Command Appeal for Peace

The Commissioner of Police Federal Capital Territory, Bala Ciroma said more than five vehicles were on Wednesday damaged while two factions of Anti and Pro-End SARS protesters clashed around Berger round about.

The Commissioner who made the statements while reacting to the EndSARS and Pro SARS protesters at the Berger bus stop, Abuja today appealed to the protesters to maintain the Peace.

ThisNigeria recalls ENDSARS protesters took to the streets across the cities calling to an end to a unit of the police which had come to be termed dangerous and antipeople. The Inspector General of Police, Mohammed Adamu, following a meeting with the President had announced the disbandment of the Unit on Monday. On Tuesday a new team the SWAT was announced to take over the activities of the SARS

Despite the disbandment, youths across the country have continued the protest, demanding for an executive order to the ban, release of all prisoners who had been arrested following the protest and compensations of all families of victims of the protest.

The Commissioner of police maintained that investigation had been lunched into the ugly incidence, adding that upto the time of addressing journalists no casualty had been recorded.

He however noted that good number of officers of the Nigeria police were deploy to calm the protest which started few days ago across the federation.
