The Federal Government of Nigeria has commiserated with the government and people of the Kingdom of Morocco over the devastating 6.8 magnitude earthquake that struck the southwestern part of Marrakech late on Friday, 8th September 2023.
The Spokesperson, of the Ministry of Foreign Affairs, Francisca Omayuli, in a statement, said Nigeria is deeply saddened by the impact of the earthquake that left over a thousand people dead and several others injured.

The government and people of Nigeria, she said, extend their deepest condolences to the bereaved families and pray for the speedy recovery of the injured.
