Five former govs, 14 others on Tinubu’s final ministerial list

President Bola Tinubu yesterday asked the Senate to confirm the appointment of five former governors and 14 others as ministers.

The former governors are, Adegboyega Oyetola (Osun State), Bello Matawale (Zamfara), Atiku Bagudu (Kebbi), Ibrahim Geidam (Yobe), and Solomon Lalong (Plateau).

Others who made the list, apart from the ex-governors are are Abdullahi Tijjani Kwarzo (Kano), Dr Bosun Tijani (Ogun), Dr Maryam Shetty (Borno State), Isiak Salako and Tunji Alausa (Lagos).

They also include Dr Yusuf Tanko Sununu (Kebbi), Shuaibu Abubakar Audu (Kogi) and Lola Ade John, a seasoned information technology expert, and a leader in designing, integrating, deploying, and managing core systems for global banking.

Also on the list are Prof Tahir Mamman (Adamawa State)  Senator Aliyu Sabi Abdullahi (Niger) Senator Alkali Ahmed Saidu (Gombe), Senator Heineken Lokpobori (Bayelsa)

Uba Maigari Ahmadu (Taraba) and Zaphaniah Bitrus Jisalo (from the Federal Capital Territory).

The names were contained in a list submitted to Senate President, Godswill Akpabio, by the Chief of Staff, Femi Gbajabiamila, yesterday afternoon

The Senate President said screening of the new ministerial nominees would start on Friday, August 4.
