Four people have been confirmed dead after a deadly gas explosion rocked the Sabon Gari area of Kano on Tuesday.
The state Commissioner of Police, Samaila Dikko made the confirmation in a TV and radio broadcast.
He said that the incident occurred near the Winners Kids Academy on Aba Road, Sabon Gari.
He revealed that the explosion resulted in damage to some buildings in the area.

He said that rescue workers were making efforts to discover people trapped at the building where the explosion occurred.
Dikko urged residents of the state to remain calm as the situation was under control.
