A man identified as Ganiyu Aikore has been arrested by the Ogun State Police for allegedly impregnating his 17-year-old daughter in the Mokola Isale Tapa area of Abeokuta.
Aikore is said to have been sleeping with his daughter for some time.
However, when she became pregnant, he attempted to procure abortion pills for her.
The daughter, suspecting the drugs were to terminate the pregnancy, informed residents of the community, who reported the matter to the police.
The police spokesperson, Omolola Odutola, confirmed the incident and stated that investigation revealed that Aikore had been having carnal knowledge of his daughter for years.
According to her, Aikore is currently in police custody.
