German Foundation Upgrades Hospital Sanitation Facilities In 10 LGAs In Bauchi State

A German based Organization “Water is Right Foundation” in collaboration with Bauchi State government has upgraded and renovated hospital sanitation facilities across 10 local government areas of Bauchi state.
This was disclosed by the governor, Senator Bala Abdulkadri Mohammed on Sunday while Commissioning the hospital Sanitation facilities at the Specialist Hospital Bauchi.
Governor Mohammed explained that the upgrading of the hospital Sanitation project in the state is as a result of the memorandum of understanding signed with the goverment of Germany and bauchi State government some months ago.
“The Water is Right Foundation is working with the state government, but mostly, the resources is coming from them while on our part as a government, we are just facilitating.As a government, we are willing to pay our counterpart funding and facilitation so that whatever we sign will be a reality”
“Presently, sanitation facilities have been upgraded in Bauchi, Gamawa and kirfi, remaining seven more local government to go. I am urging you, as an organization to ensure that the remaining local governments are touched and I assure you that we will establish a durable framework for the maintenance of the sanitation project you have brought to the state”
Governor Mohammed said that the activities executed in the project include connecting and repairing of water pipes and tanks, connecting and repairing of sewage pipes and pits toilets, additional drianages for hand washing facilities, repairing of toilets and water sinks, tiling and painting, interior decorations and hygiene education for community workers.
While calling on the benefiting communities to make sure that the medical officers in charge of the facilities take the installations seriously and imbibe the good practice as shown the Water is Rigth to life foundation so that the facilities do not depreciate.
In his address, the Founder of Water is Right Foundation, Mr Rolf Stahlhofe, represented by the Coordinator of the foundation, Mrs Nancy Musa Kaale commended the state government for partnering with it’s Organization to give quality health care to the people of the state and assured the government of the speedy execution of the project in the remaining seven local government areas of the state.
The sanitation project is being carried out in 10 local government areas of Bauchi, Gamawa, Zaki, Bogoro, Ningi, Tafawa Balewa, jama’re and Katagum among others.
