Ex-international, Kingsley Obiekwu is backing the Super Eagles to overcome the Black Stars of Ghana as both teams clash this evening in a return leg of their 2022 FIFA World Cup playoff at the Moshood Abiola Stadium, Abuja.
The Super Eagles held the Black Stars to a scoreless draw in the first leg played last Friday at the Baba Yara Stadium, Kumasi, Ghana.
Obiekwu, while speaking ahead of the match said the Eagles are at advantage to seal their seventh world cup ticket, playing in front of their home crowd in Abuja.
The 1996 Olympic Games gold medalist, hinged his optimism on the quality of players in the Super Eagles squad, noting that with the right focus and hard work, victory will be theirs but was quick to warn that the Ghanaians are not going to be easy nut to crack.

“It’s going to be a very tight game for sure. We all know that the Black Stars are not an easy side to play against, I had that experience of playing against them some years back in Lagos and it was not an easy match for us as that friendly encounter ended in a draw. Ghanaians have always up their game anytime they face Nigeria and it’s not going to be different with this match.
“However, with the Eagles playing at home and with what I saw of them in training I want to believe they have the quality and capability to make Nigerians proud. The Ghanaians will certainly present stiff opposition but will fall in the end,” Obiekwu said.
