Panic has gripped concerned Nigerians as bandits threaten to kill the remaining abducted students of Greenfield University on Tuesday, May 4th, 2021.

The leader of the bandits who identified himself as Sani Idris Jalingo had said that the 17 remaining students will be killed if their demands were not met by the government.

Jalingo said this while speaking in an interview on Hausa Service of Voice of America (VOA).

The demand includes N100 million and 10 brand Honda motorcycles which Jalingo referred to as ‘Boko Haram’.

Reacting to the interview, Nigerians have begun to trend #GreenfieldUniversity on Twitter to bring the attention of the international community to the plight of the students.

The clock ticks for the lives of these young Nigerians and for the honour of their avoidable tragedy needs no tears afterwards.”

IconicRaymond tweeted: “I pray Almighty God to protect all Greenfield students and bring them back home safely. It will be very bad news if #Greenfielduniversity students did not come back home safe.”

Aproko_Doctor tweeted: “We created this monster currently, paying kidnappers and pampering repentant terrorists. Now some students of #Greenfielduniversity may pay for the government’s inability to protect them with their lives. This is no longer acceptable, it’s becoming a norm and has to stop.”
