The traditional ruler of Ikorodu, Oba Kabiru Shotobi has appraised the governorship and House Assembly election in Lagos State saying there were remarkable differences compared to the last presidential and national assembly elections.
According to him, today’s elections were well conducted and the electoral officers were up and doing, adding that they reported to their duty posts much earlier than expected.
He said: “There is a remarkable improvement in this election
The pattern of this election is different from that of the last election.
There is peace, there is unity. We have learnt a lot from previous events.”
He said the mistakes noticed in the last election have been worked upon.
“We have learnt from history.
We’re did everything in accordance to the law. People came out and there is relative peace.”
The Independent National Electoral Commission (INEC), he said, has improved on its last performance.
He said: “The INEC performed better
They came as early as 7.45am and people have been coming to vote.”
He, also appreciated the role of media in making the election successful.

I have gone to some polling booth myself and I have seen that many people considered this as their civic responsibility and they have come out to show their love and support for their preferred party, and his candidate, Sanwo-Olu.”
“We have mobilised and encouraged our people to come out to perform their civic responsibility.”
On the presence of Commissioner of Police at Ota Ona, he said his presence was part of the process to ensure security, adding that those disturbing the peace in the area have been arrested and taken away.
“We are law abiding in Ikorodu. We do not have any complaint.
Conduct of governorship election is better than that of the Presidential elections. There is an improvement in the exercise.,” he said.
He added: “We know who knows the way and we have decided to follow the person that knows the way. They have done it before and we are confident they can do it again.”
