The Imo state government is to set up a Commission of Inquiry to look into the unrest at Izombe community of Oguta Local Government Area which has attracted condemnation from all quarters especially with regards to the death of innocent civilians and security agents.

The incident which has left scores dead and others homeless according to reports was linked incident of illegal oil bunkering headed by a notorious criminal, who was amongst the inmates of the Owerri Division of the Nigerian Correctional Services before the invasion.

According to sources the Imo State Government is acting on the reports received and would be setting up a Commission of Inquiry in the days to come after a delegation visit to the community.

The Government reassures her commitment with and support to our security agencies in this campaign of restoring peace, law and order within the land of Imo.

A member of the community speaking said Governor Hope Uzodimma has restored peace and security in Izombe, anything contrary to this is a #FAKENEWS peddled by the enemies of the state.

‘Our people have been so mentally devastated and their minds retrogressively programmed to believe that the only time to show a governor is working is only when the governor storms a crime scene, at some times, shedding crocodile tears – deceptive leadership.’

‘At one time, deceptive leadership has been smuggled in as an acceptable form of leadership by the Okorocha disastrous era which placed much premium on cunning and during the short illegal stint of Ihedioha, he horned the skills by adding crocodile tears.

‘But the Peoples Governor Hope Uzodimma has come to change those fake tendencies with Leadership.

‘If it were in the past, they would have flown to the crime scene to dance on the graves of Imo patriots but the People’s Governor has restored confidence in governance that now shows it as a serious business and not a theater of all manner of jokes.

‘On the day of the incident, I can confidently confirm that the Peoples Governor has been abreast with the happenings and all that transpired in Izombe and worked with the relevant security agencies to restore calm and normalcy.

‘As unfortunate as the incident were, the governor brought normalcy in the oil producing before 12 hours of the incident.

‘But trust the defeated and bitter Imo PDP and other wannabee opposition elements making issues where there are none.

‘Paid agents of darkness are everywhere painting the issues that do not exist into reality – this is their stock in trade, typical enemies of Imo people and the state.

‘Those who do this and their co-travelers of embittered witches and wizards who wish destruction to Imo state are working hard to make the state ungovernable.

‘They have tried their luck with the unknown gunmen and the governor roundly defeated them and now, they are exploring other avenues trying to explore ways to continue to destabilize the state.’
