At Admiralty Way, lanes were restricted on the highway with disused tires as a sea of heads patiently waited for accreditation and voting in the open air and under pagodas, with long lines of vehicles parked on the lanes.
At catholic Victoria island unit 17, there was a massive turnout.
A voter summed up the scenario, saying, I have never seen this mind of turnout in any Nigerian election like this, especially in highbrow areas. We believe that our votes will count by voting.

The party agents I spoke with said the INEC officials attributed the delay in their coming on time to a lack of a van to convey them.
They said the corps members came late. There was a local arrangement, which was to ease the process such that everybody could vote and go home.
There was a tense atmosphere of if you didn’t vote for this particular candidate, there might be something according to a source.
