Igbo burials put people under unnecessary pressure, says actress Mary Lazarus

Nollywood actress, Mary Lazarus has said that Igbo burials are stressful and put people under pressure due to unnecessary expenses.

She stated this while narrating her experience during her mother’s burial ceremony.

Lazarus lamented that her family was thoroughly extorted by those who did not even know their deceased mother, under the guise of “culture.”

The actress also narrated the story of a guy who stole a goat to appease the elders before he could bury his mother.
