Chairman of the Peoples Democratic Party (PDP) in Rivers State, Ambassador Desmond Akawor has congratulated the state Governor, Nyesom Wike for the success of the party’s National Convention.
In a statement issued on Tuesday, Akawor commended Wike for ensuring that the PDP had a “Rhythm of consensus” during the convention that was held on October 30, 2021, at Eagle Square, Abuja.
The statement read: “It is a smooth sail when you have an ardent Captain at the rudder and even more sustainable when the ardent Captain is on a course well known to him. This is the N.E.W (new) experience we are savouring as a party in our bid to revamp our existential space and country as a whole, which is a must based on the recent maladministration and predicaments the government and party at the centre have continuously perpetrated on us as Nigerians with disregard to set rules and rights, constitutionally provided for. Thus, disintegrating all along strange fault-lines on issues of faith, tribe, trust etcetera.
“While the little minds are preoccupied with bulk-passing their ineptitude or engaging in blame game six years after stumbling into power, with nothing positive to show, the well versed and seasoned leadership of our great party, the Peoples Democratic Party (PDP), greatly influenced by a Rivers son and Governor of Rivers State, His Excellency, Chief Barr. Nyesom Ezenwo Wike took it upon himself by crisscrossing the Niger, making sure that nothing is left undone, by seeing to it that the PDP had a seamless change of guard without rancour, and a Rythm of consensus even when from close quarters, acrimony tends to rear discord.

It was legally and adequately tackled to give the party a peaceful convention that once again presents to Nigerians the best, tested and trusted hands to steer the PDP, in our resolved bid to salvage and rescue Nigeria from the clutches of mediocrity and poverty.
Even as I and the Rivers State Chapter of the PDP pledge our continuous loyalty and commitment to our great party, the PDP, under the future leadership of the Distinguished Senator Iyorchia Ayu and the astute executives, here is a heartfelt congratulations to our Governor and other committed party leaders that made the convention a grand success. Even as we envisage an upcoming tenure of resounding victories, under the incoming leadership of our elected National Chairman, the Distinguished Senator Iyorchia Ayu and his team of executives. It is an established fact that we will surely rescue Nigeria Together!”
