I’m not interested in AMVCA unless… – Ibrahim Chatta

Veteran Nigerian actor Ibrahim Chatta has expressed his lack of interest in winning the Africa Magic Viewers Choice Awards (AMVCA), following snubs from the organizers.

Chatta, who was nominated for the Best Lead Actor for his role in the ‘House of GAA’ in the just concluded award event lost to his counterpart Femi Adebayo (‘Seven Doors’).

Appearing as a guest on skit maker Isbae U’s show, the filmmaker was questioned about being consistently overlooked by the award organisers.

In response, Chatta stated that accolades aren’t a priority for him. He added that if he was to ever receive a nomination, he likely would have selected one of his own films himself for submission.

He said”I am not interested, why will I be praying for what I am not interested in?. Whenever I am interested, I will submit a film and give it to them to see if it is worthy of an award.
