Edo2020: Tribunal Receives 3 Petitions

The total number of petitions received by the Election Petitions Tribunal in Edo State arising from the September 19 governorship election, is now three.
The secretary of the Election Petitions Tribunal in Edo State, Sunday Martins, confirmed receiving the three petitions on Friday.
Besides the ADP, two parties namely the Action Peoples Party (APP), and the Action Alliance, (AA) have also filed petitions at the tribunal.
Both APP and AA are asking that the tribunal order fresh elections on grounds that the INEC unlawfully excluded them and their duly elected candidates from participation.
The last day for political parties and their candidates as claimants to file petitions is Saturday (October 10).
The respondents have 21 days, from the dates of filing the petitions, to respond to the petitions.
The tribunal will thereafter decide when to commence inaugural sitting.
