Subsequent to the loss suffered by APC’s Governor Gboyega Oyetola in the last Saturday governorship election, indication emerged that no fewer than 50 lawyers including Senior Advocates are on stand-by to contest Ademola Adeleke’s of the Peoples Democratic Party (PDP)’s victory.

The governor’s attorney, Kunle Adegoke said he and the legal team were still examining the outcomes announced by INEC.

“The legal team is actually functioning while we continue to evaluate materials. Because there will be so many documents in a vote of this kind, it is crucial that we examine them critically before choosing, and that is exactly what we are doing now.

“The group’s leader is Dr. Biodun Layonu (SAN). There are still many others who will join the legal team, therefore it is not yet full.

“The two attorneys we can publicly identify at this time are Dr. Biodun Layonu and Kunle Adegoke.

“We may not know the others who might arrive, but as soon as we are prepared to move, we will alert the media.

“Since so many attorneys are interested in joining the team, the membership cannot be defined.

” Election petitions are unique cases, as you are aware. Therefore, we invite as many interested lawyers as possible. We could encounter 50 or more people,” he stressed.
