Nigerian rapper Oladips has opened up about his recent near-death experience, revealing that traditional rites were performed to bring him back to life.
Nigerians were shocked following the announcement of his death by his record label.
However, days later, he surfaced alive, a move many Nigerians frowned on and called a publicity stunt for his album release.
Reacting to the controversy surrounding his ‘death’ Oladips shared details of his ordeal in a video sighted by ThisNigeria.
He said, “I no reach hospital, they said I was unconscious, they were slapping my face, beating my chest and I wasn’t responding, so I their mind they thought I was dead and my mum was like, don’t take my son to the hospital.
“It took something like 2-3 days for me to regain consciousness, they took me to the hospital but not the regular hospital, my mom made sure they didn’t take me away, I am a traditionalist, I was treated traditionally.
“I’m not going to pretend, I’m a traditionalist, everyone knows that and some traditional rites were performed to revive me.
“It took something like 2-3 days for me to regain consciousness.”
