About 33 teams and 130 players are set to battle for honors as the NASCO Group Nigeria-sponsored annual Jos Polo International tournament galloped off yesterday at the Hassan Katsina Polo field in Jos the Plateau state capital
The eight-day tournament will see teams from Abuja, Kaduna, Yola, Zaria, Minna, Argungu, Maiduguri, Katsina, Kano, Bauchi, Abuja, and Keffi in action.
NASCO’s team, Red Crown Polo is also participating in the tournament.
The Public Relation Officer and Vice Chairman, Nigerian Polo Commentator, Hassan Gashash said no stone would be left unturned for a hitch-free tournament, adding over N19m had been budgeted for the international tournament.
Meanwhile, the acting President Jos Polo Federation (JPC), Edward Fox, assured tourists and polo enthusiasts that the club will host the best winter polo fiesta that will surpass previous editions in every respect in years.
