Undisputed UFC Welterweight world champion, Kamaru Usman of Nigeria has promised to beat the hell out of America’s Jorge Masvidal should both fighters meet again later in the year.
The “Nigerian Night mare” spoke following his third-round destruction of Brazil’s Gilbert Burns at UFC 258 held on February 13 in Las Vegas, United States and believes that a second showdown with Masvidal will put to rest who between both fighters is the best.
When both fighters first met last July in UFC 251, Usman ran away with a five-round victory but has remain unhappy with his performance in the fight which also saw him broke his nose and ever since wanting a rematch. “He knows he can’t beat me,” Usman said of Masvidal.
“There are certain guys you just know, I can’t beat that dude.’ He just doesn’t have the skills to beat me. Now, can a freak accident happen on any given day? Absolutely. But 10 times out of 10, I beat him badly, which is why I looked at him. It’s my show.

I pick who I fight. At this point, I just didn’t like all the circumstances I had to deal with going into [the first fight with Masvidal], and it left a sour taste in my mouth. All the talks, they’ve talked has left a sour taste in my mouth. I need to put him in the ground for good.”
Continuing, Kamaru said, “The Ultimate Fighter on ESPN, the biggest platform in the world, that’s what we want,’”
Masvidal’s manager, Malki Kawa, has proposed the rematch should take place in Masvidal’s hometown of Miami, with fans in attendance.
And Usman, who lives in South Florida, says he would love to fight in Miami if the UFC agrees.
“I run Miami,” Usman said. “Miami is mine. He doesn’t run anything in Miami. You don’t run anything in Miami if you’re getting beat up like that. No city wants a loser. So, yes. He gets to leave his house and fight in my Miami.”
Though Usman’s manager, Ali Abdelaziz has hinted that discussion is still ongoing on the possibility of Usman vs Masvidal rematch, he remains confident that his wade will still dominate when the fight eventually holds.
