The Kano State Consumer Protection Council (KSCPC), has solicited the continued support of the state Police Command to achieve its mandate and activities.
This is contained in a statement issued to newsmen by the KSCPC spokesman, Musbahu Yakasai, in Kano on Friday.
The KSCPC Managing Director, Gen. Idris Bello-Danbazau (Rtd), made the call when he paid a familiarization visit to the Commissioner of Police, Mr. Sama’ila Dikko.
Bello-Danbazau attributed the success achieved so far by the council to the support given by the State Police Command.
“On average, people now don’t like to follow law and order, that is why enforcement is very essential,” he said.
He explained that KSCPC’s functions required a lot of operations going in and out to enforce, which also requires the immense support of the police.
“We decided to solicit your continued support to this agency so that we can continue to carry out successful operations in order to achieve our mandate and protect people from substandard and fake products,” he said.
The managing director commended the police commissioner for his gigantic work despite the security challenges, saying he has been able to keep Kano very safe and peaceful.
On his part, the State Commissioner of Police, Mr. Dikko, pledged to support KSCPC towards ensuring the protection of lives and property.

“KSCPC is an essential organization that the state government needs to have. With an experienced military officer heading the organization, its mandates would be met.
“Police are always here for the masses, government and agencies. We have been working together, we will continue to give you 100 percent support,” Dikko said.
