Lady Victoria Nwanyiocha Aguiyi-Ironsi, widow of Nigeria’s first military ruler has died.
According to reports, Lady Victoria passed away at 5 am on Monday.
She was 98.
Her husband, Gen. Johnson Umunnakwe Aguiyi-Ironsi, was the first Nigerian military head of state from January 17, 1966, till July 29, 1966.

They got married in 1953 while she was a student of Holy Rosary Convent School, Okigwe.
Aguiyi-Ironsi was killed in Ibadan in a counter-coup led by Gen. Murtala Mohammed.
