The visit of Northern lawmakers in the House of Representatives to the National Leader of the All Progressives Congress (APC), Ahmed Bola Tinubu is not an endorsement of his presidential aspiration.
A top aide of one of the leadership in the House of Representatives confided in ThisNigeria.
Recall that the Northern caucus in the Green chamber led by the Deputy Speaker, Idris Ahmed Wase, Friday visited Tinubu who is recuperating in London.
Joined on the entourage were, the Majority Leader, Alhassan Ado-Doguwa; Chairman, House Committee on Rules and Business, Abubakar Fulata; Chairman, House Committee on the Army, Abdulrazak Namdas; Sada Soli
However, denying the media report, the insider explained that as the National Leader of the party, it was only expedient and in good conscience that the Northern lawmakers in the House of Representatives also visited the recuperating party leader, just like many other groups, party members, well-wishers, and leaders have done
He noted that the visit does not have anything to with political aspiration of Tinubu, but a show of sympathy about his health and to wish him well and quick recovery
“It is not an endorsement. It is to see his health and wish him well, the source said, adding that the group is expected back in the country today.

Though there are rumours of Tinubu’s interest in the presidency, following his body language and those of his close political associates, he has not formally declared his intention.
But his candidacy has been endorsed by some chieftains of the party, including serving governors, who think that it was time to pay him back by supporting his presidential aspiration, haven supported and played a vital role in the APC’s success in coming to government in the 2015 and 2019 general elections.
