A Shari’a court l sitting in Magajin Gari, Kaduna on Thursday sentenced a man, Sama’ila Iliyasu to three months imprisonment for cheating swindling his business partner.

Judge Nuhu Falalu, sentenced Iliyasu after he pleaded guilty to cheating and breach of trust.

Falalu did not give the convict an option to pay a fine.

He ordered the convict to pay N360,000 to the complainant, Amina Usman as compensation.

Earlier, Usman, who resides at the Hayin Banki area said she gave the convict a motorcycle worth N444,000 with an agreement for him to pay in installments as hire purchase.

She stated that Iliyasu paid N84,000 and later told her that the motorcycle had been seized by the Kaduna State Traffic Law Enforcement Agency for violating the ban on Okada rider’s directive by the state government.

She, therefore, prayed to the court to recover the balance of N360,000.
