A woman simply identified as Sadiya has been rescued after her husband locked and starved her for one year in the Nguru town of Yobe State

The man identified as Ibrahim Yunusa , allegedly detained his wife in their house while feeding her only kunu to survive.

According to him, he detained her in the house to prevent his family members from harming her .

It was gathered that the mother of the victim rescued her from the house after she paid them a visit over a suspicion that her daughter was not well after speaking to her on the phone.

Sadiya, who was near death, was rescued and taken to the Aminu kano teaching hospital where she is currently receiving treatment.
