The Registrar of McPherson University, Mrs. Emi Alawode, has commended a member of the institution’s Governing Council, Elder Omolara Adediji, for donating N1 million to the Department of Mass Communication to support practical learning and academic development.
The donation was made during Adediji’s visit to the university, during which she toured key facilities within the department, including the Radio and Television Studio, the Editing Room, and the Photo Studio.
Speaking during the presentation, Adediji applauded the university management for its commitment to academic excellence and infrastructural development, noting that investment in education and professional training remained critical to national development.

She expressed satisfaction with the practical learning environment and the facilities available to students, describing the projects as commendable efforts to improve media education.
During the tour, Alawode briefed the council member on ongoing developmental projects, academic programmes and initiatives designed to enhance teaching and learning across the university.
Receiving the cheque on behalf of the institution, the Registrar described the donation as a timely intervention that would further strengthen practical media training in the department.
“This donation will further strengthen practical learning, media training and academic development within the department,” Alawode said.
She added that the university remained committed to equipping students with the necessary skills and exposure required to excel in the communication and media profession.
