Mosturah, Yusuf, win 1st Haniel Hadison and Friends PSA Squad Championship

National Junior Squad player, Mosturah Durosinlorun and Yusuf Quadri at the weekend emerged champions of the first Haniel Hadison and Friends Professional Squash Association (PSA) Satellite U-19 men’s and Ladies Squash tournament held in Abuja.
Playing in the Ladies category, high rising Mosturah Durosinlorun from Kwara State defeated Awawu Balogun ( Ogun State) 3-2 ( 3-11, 7-11, 11-4, 11-9, 11-7 ), to emerge Champion in a game that lasted for 1 hr. 8 minutes.
On his part Yusuf Quadri (Lagos state) beat Femi Shedara ( Edo state )3-1 ( 6-11, 11-4, 11-6, 115 ) to lift the men’s trophy in just 59 minutes in a tournament that has N500,000 prize money plus giant trophy for the men’s winner and N400,000 set aside for Ladies champion.
Speaking at the closing ceremony in Abuja, President of the Nigeria Squash Federation, Sunday Wilson Egberipou, solicited for the support of all stakeholders to support the Federation so that together they will take Nigeria Squash to the zenith, adding that the Federation has embarked on fund raising on how to get the N55 million budget for the 2026 World Junior Squash Championship in Canada and the 11,000 pound sterling (£11,000) required for the registration in two weeks time.
While praising the standard of the championship as exhibited by the player, he advised them to always maintain the standard, revealing that the Federation has gotten multimillion Naira equipment to be distributed very soon, noting that a selected team of technical officials have been directed to work with coaches for the distribution.
