A revenue collector has been stabbed to death during a fight between youths and a motorcyclist in Ogheghe Community, Ikpoba Local Government Area of Edo State.

Report from the area said tragedy struck when a Commercial motorcyclist, a migrant worker from northern part of Nigeria stabbed the victim with a knife who work in the area which led to his death.

It was also learnt following the death  of the victim, community youths on Tuesday mobilised and attacked the the settlement of the suspected murderer and injured several of persons and also destroyed property.

The stand-off. caused panic among residents of the area.

Spokesman of the Nigeria police, Edo State Command, DSP Princewill Osaigbovo, who confirmed the incident, said he was not aware of any death.

He said the commissioner of police has met with the troubled Community and that normalcy has returned to the area.
