The Sokoto State House of Assembly has received Gov. Aminu Tambuwal’s notification letter for the appointment of Alhaji Bello Tambuwal, the Deputy Clerk of the Assembly as the acting Clerk.

The appointment followed the retirement of the former clerk, Alhaji Abdurrazak Shehu, from service.

Meanwhile, the outgone clerk, during a brief handover ceremony, thanked all members and staff of the house for their support and cooperation throughout his stay in the assembly.

“Let me use this opportunity to appreciate all and sundry in the assembly for your unalloyed support and cooperation during my three-year period as Clerk to the House.

“I indeed enjoyed the good working relationship and cooperation of all, particularly the Speaker, Deputy Speaker, House leaders and all Directors of the Assembly.

“Today, I thanked the Almighty Allah that I am handing over the responsibility of the assembly’s clerk to my successor, who is one of us.

“As such, I appeal to the members of staff of the house to sustain the support to him, in order for him to continue from where we stopped,” Shehu said.
