NDSF mourns demise of national football team coach Banjo

The Nigeria Deaf Sports Federation (NDSF) has announced the demise of its National Football Team Coach, Kamiludeen Oladimeji Banjo.
Late Coach Banjo died on October 9, 2025, after a brief illness.
He was a celebrated coach who led the Deaf Eagles to significant victories, including, West Africa Deaf Football Championship wins – six times, Deaflympics qualifications in 2009, 2017, and 2013, Africa Deaf Football Championship participation in 2020, World Deaf Football Championship participation in 2023.
Coach Banjo started working with the Deaf Eagles in 2004 as an assistant coach and became the national coach in 2005. His dedication and expertise earned him recognition within the sports community.
In a release signed by NDSF’s Secretary General,
Lukman Agbabiaka, the federation described Banjo’s demise as painfull and huge lost to the country.
