Unite The World Peace Torch Foundation unveils Our Sports

A newest sport in the world called Our Sport has been unveiled in Lagos by Unite The World Peace Torch Foundation.
The unveiling ceremony which took place on Saturday October 11, 2025 at the National Stadium, Surulere Lagos, was performed by Unite The World Peace Torch Foundation President, Messenger Benson Imiavan Ovbiosa, witnessed by the Secretary Ijeoma Nkuche and Technical Director, Babatoba Samuel.
The sport contains five sporting events – Torch Relay, Marathon Sport, Trott Sport, Rail Sport, Crawling Race and Crawling play ball.
Speaking at the unveiling, Messenger Ovbiosa explained that the sport which was a vision he had some 20 years ago will be used to propagate peace in Nigeria and the world at large.
“This sport we are unveiling today is called our sport. It’s under the auspices of Unite The World Peace Torch Foundation.
“We are going to use this sport to propose peace all over the world, starting from Nigeria. But we also need to have our own sport that we can also use for competition all over the world. So the basis is to promote peace in every area of the whole world. That’s why we started this,” he said.
“We had this vision about 20 years ago. Thank God today it has come to be. It’s called our sport. If you live in Africa or Nigeria, it’s our sport. Meaning that everybody has to be involved in this sport.
“Soonest, we are going to be having monthly programme for all the games. This will it to develop faster and gain ground.
“For now we need to train the trainers and the technical officials. To achieve this, we need sponsorship from all over the world, to take the sport around the world,” he added.
Asked if he has any plan of taking the sport to other parts of the country, he answered in affirmation.
“Yes, we’re going to start with the local governments, move it to the states Then, we’ll go to Abuja. This is our planning now.
” It may well be launched with our president in Abuja. With the chairman of the sport commission. We’ll go together to give it to our president.
