A three month’s community service sentence was handed to Akinsanya Olamide Ridwan, a 400-level Unilorin student, who was convicted of a romantic scam by the Kwara State High Court.
The sentence, which was given by Justice Sikiru, involves clearing the drainage that extends from Bekind Filling Station, near Tipper Garage, Tanke, up to the University’s gate. Ridwan was arrested on the 16th of March and pleaded guilty to the one-count charge of internet fraud.
He is to commence his community service tomorrow.
He would also have to pay a N50,000 fine along with carrying out the community service.
