NIGERIA @60: Embrace active participation in nation building- Governor Badaru tells Nigerians

Governor Badaru Abubakar of Jigawa State says for Nigeria to attain the dreams of its founding fathers, every citizen must act positively for the growth and development of the country.

The Governor stated this at a forum to mark Nigeria’s Sixty Years’ Independence Anniversary held in Dutse.

Governor Badaru Abubakar pointed out that even though the country is advanced now than it was at the point of independence, much is still expected for all and sundry both leaders and followers alike are expected to act, and think positively.

He noted that the progress made by the country in the last sixty years in terms of improvement in the standard of living of citizens is appreciable, and there is cause to celebrate the journey so far.

Governor Badaru affirmed that the country’s education system, public healthcare delivery system, wealth creation, infrastructure, as well as social and economic sectors have recorded significant development in the last sixty years.

He noted  that in every journey of development there are challenges and for Nigeria to overcome the hurdles and progress to the expectation of the global community, every citizen must work towards national cohesion, unity and peace through selfless service.

The governor reminded Nigerians that the only country they have is Nigeria and must therefore work tirelessly for its progress and development.

He urged Nigerians to use the period of the anniversary for sober reflection and to renew their patriotism and commitment to the country’s development.

But to Comrade Ahmad Kafi, there was urgent need on our government’s at all levels to confront the most crucial challenges of security, poverty, and unemployment opportunities on Nigerians with vigors.
