The Police Command in Oyo State has assured the people of the state of adequate security before, during, and after the Independence celebration.
The Commissioner of Police in the state, Mrs. Ngozi Onadeko, gave the assurance in a statement issued on Thursday in Ibadan.
Onadeko said that the command had put in place, security measures to protect the citizens and ensure the law and order during activities lined up for the celebration.
She said that Area Commanders, Divisional Police Officers, Heads of Tactical teams, and formations in the command have been directed to lead the Independence Anniversary security operations from the frontline.

“They are to ensure high visibility and intelligence-driven patrols around the celebrations venues, residential areas, and places of the public resort to prevent any infiltration by hostile elements,” Onadeko said.
The commissioner appealed to the people for their continuous cooperation with officers and men of the command.
