Police Arrest Over 3000 Criminal Suspects In Kano.

Nigeria Police Kano command has arrested 3,806 persons for allegedly committing various offences in the past 12 months, the state commissioner of police, Alhaji Habi Ahmad Sani has disclosed.
CP Habu, in a statement issued to mark his one year in office made available to journalists in Kano on Sunday afternoon, stated that the command during the period under review arrested 117 suspects alleged to be involved in kidnapping for ransom.
He further disclosed that the command apprehended 215 armed robbery suspects, 87 fraudsters, 61 drug dealers and 21 cattle rustlers were in police net.
The police boss added that the command took into its custody 75 motor vehicles,53 motorcycles and eight bicycles.
He said 28 victims of abduction were rescued by officers and men of the command, alongside 10 kidnap victims and four person were released from solitary confinement.
CP Habu Sani stated that 25 victims of human trafficking were rescued in the past 12 months, he commended officers and men attached to the command for their gallantry and commitment to securing lives and properties in the state.
Commenting on the strategies deployed to secure the state, he revealed that the command has intensified its community policing strategy.
He further stated that the command has adopted the use of technology in intelligence and evidence gathering .
“Our public complaint desk are accessible by all, my regulars visit to Area commands and Divisional Police Officers(DPO) has played a tremendous role in policing the state effectively,” Habu noted.
