Nigerian Health Workers to receive N8.9b hazard allowance

8.9 billion Naira has been approved by the Nigerian Federal Government as hazard allowance provision for health workers in the country.
The provision of the hazard allowance is in response to the strike action by resident doctors in the country, and the Federal Government intends to give attention to providing personal protective equipment (PPE) for hospitals and isolation centres.
Boss Mustapha, Chairman of the Presidential Task Force (PTF) on COVID-19 and Secretary to the Government of the Federation (SGF), revealed that the resident doctor’s strike has invoked public discussions on the health situation in the country.
