The Nigeria Customs Service, at the Murtala Muhammed International Airport, has arrested Ishaq Abubakar on his way to Dubai with 2,886 ATM cards and four SIM cards, and he has subsequently been transferred to the custody of the Economic and Financial Crimes Commission.
The ATM cards and SIM cards that were found on Ishaq were hidden in cartons of noodles which he hoped to sneak into Dubai via the Emirates evacuation flight before he was arrested at the departure hall of the Murtala Muhammed International Airport.
It is quite unknown what the ATM and SIM cards are for, but it is probable that they are to be used to launder money or other foreign exchange misuses.
Abdulrasheed Bawa, Lagos Zonal Head of the EFCC has vowed that the agency would do everything to bring all the culprits involved in the case to book.
