Professional football player arrested for involvement in $24 million scam

The US Justice Department revealed yesterday that about a dozen people have been arrested and charged for siphoning millions from palliative funds.
The Paycheck Protection Program (PPP) was intended to support US businesses that were affected by the pandemic, and over $70 million had been stolen from the initiative.
However, the US government has uncovered a significant amount of fraud and recovered about $30 million. And this feat has given them the impetus to keep investigating to uncover more PPP fraud.
Such investigation has led to the arrest of Josh Bellamy, a professional football player for the New York Jets team, for his involvement in trying to steal $24 million.
