NSCDC arrests suspected motorcycle theif in Jigawa

The Nigeria Security and Civil Defence Corps (NSCDC) in Jigawa, says it has arrested a 28-year-old man for alleged motorcycle theft.

The Spokesman of the Corps, Mr. Adamu Shehu, confirmed the arrest to the News Agency of Nigeria (NAN) in Dutse on Monday.

Shehu said the suspect (name withheld) was arrested at about 6:00 a.m. on Sunday by personnel of the Corps along Birnini Kudu road, in Birnin Kudu Local Government Area of the state.

“One of our personnel attached to Malam Alu Agro Allied Farm, along Birninkudu road after closing from work met the suspect, who run out of fuel pushing a motorcycle around 6:00 a.m and offered to assist to push the motorcycle.

“However, the suspect became nervous and his suspicious actions prompted the personnel to interrogate him,” he said.

The spokesman said preliminary investigation showed that the suspect stole the motorcycle valued at N120,000 from one Yusuf Ismail, a resident of Maichediya village.

According to him, the suspect will be charged to court upon completion of investigation. (NAN)
