The Nigeria Union of Journalists, NUJ, has charged journalists to remain watchdogs and hold political office holders accountable at all times.
Chairman, FCT Council of the NUJ, Comrade Emma Ogbeche gave this charge when the newly elected executive of Cross River State Journalists Forum, CROSSJOF paid him a courtesy visit.
Ogbeche told the journalists that they should be steadfast in their commitment to the profession and contribute their quota to nation-building. He said they should keep political office holders, especially from Cross River State on their toes and make them accountable.

Secretary of FCT NUJ, Ochiaka Ugwu while welcoming the new CROSSJOF Exco, congratulated them and applauded the Forum for the peaceful conduct of the election which he monitored.
Speaking earlier, the Chairman CROSSJOF, Comrade Ignatius Ushie appreciated the NUJ chairman for his leadership role and support for journalists in the FCT. He said the purpose of the visit was to introduce the Exco and solicit support and guidance from the leadership of the NUJ FCT. He lauded the leadership style of the Chairman and his team which he said is result-oriented and promised to walk in his footsteps.

Presenting a vote of thanks on behalf of the Exco, the Secretary CROSSJOF, Mrs Francisca Ogar appreciated the Chairman for the audience and his open door policy.
She assured him that the Exco would live up to expectations and promised that training opportunities for journalists extended to members would not be taken for granted.
Other members of the CROSSJOF Exco present at the visit are, Lulu Bankong, Vice Chairman; Idara Ukpanyang, Treasurer; Wofai Ibor Financial Secretary and Nten Ekpang, Public Relations Officer.
