Oborevwori’s aide allegedly killed by husband

The Special Adviser to the Delta State Governor on Trade and Export, Shimite Bello has been reportedly murdered by her husband, Pastor David Favour Love.

According to reports, the politician was poisoned to death by her husband over a minor quarrel.

She was reportedly rushed to St. Luke’s Hospital, Asaba, where she lost her life.

A family source who spoke anonymously revealed that the deceased was healthy last Saturday when they spoke over the phone.

“I spoke with her for over an hour on Saturday. Nothing was wrong with her. On Sunday, I sent her Easter messages, but she didn’t reply, which was unusual,” the family source revealed.

According to the source, Shimite’s maid called her elder brother, informing him that the husband had locked Shimite in the house since morning.

“Following this information, her brother rushed in and found her already foaming from her mouth, then, rushed her to the hospital, but she was confirmed dead by doctors on duty,” the source said.

Shimite’s death was confirmed by the Police Public Relations Officer (PPRO) in the state, SP Bright Edafe, who also denied that the command arrested the husband of the deceased, who he said was only placed in protective custody over concerns for his safety as the family of the deceased has lodged a complaint over the circumstances of her death claiming that the husband could have played a role in her death.

Edafe added that it was the husband who called to report the death of his wife and also expressed concern that the family of the woman was threatening him.

“He (the husband) was the one who called to report that his wife died early this morning and that he was receiving threats from her family, who feared he might be attacked. It was on this basis that we went to his house and brought him in for his own safety,” the Police spokesman stated.
