Ogun lawmakers want govt to fix deplorable roads

Members of Ogun House of Assembly on Tuesday called on the State and Federal Governments to urgently intervene in fixing some of the deplorable roads in the state.

The lawmakers, during their contributions under personal explanations at the plenary in Abeokuta, decried the deteriorating condition of roads across the state.

The roads deliberated on by the lawmakers included Lagos-Abeokuta, Sango-Idiroko, Sango-Ijoko-Agbado-Akute, Lusada-Ado-Ikoga, Atan-Ado, Ode-Omi-Lagos and Sagamu-Ogijo roads, amongst others.

The lawmakers called for urgent intervention of the state government through the Ministry of Works and Infrastructure, State Public Works Agency (OGPWA), and the Federal Road Maintenance Agency (FERMA) to put palliative measures where necessary.

The lawmakers said that such palliative measures would ease the suffering of road users, whose socio-economic activities were being adversely affected by the poor condition of the roads.
