Former Governor of Edo State,Chief Lucky Igbinedion on Friday congratulated the Esama of Benin on the opening of Abuja Radio Station, Independent Radio 89.7fm

Igbinedion who officially kicked of the test transmission of the new radio station in Abuja said the station will keep  listeners glued to radio with it’s popularity of programs that is meant to entertain, inform and update on activities in FCT and  across Nigeria .

He went further to forsee that in the next few years listeners should expect a more nationalistic station with objective reportage.

On her remarks, the General Manager Independent Radio and TV Abuja , Amber Olague thanked God,Chief Gabriel Osawaru Igbinedion ,the board, director of Independent Radio and TV, Senior Elder Ogbeide Uwumwonse, management and staff for their support and perseverance while reiterating the idealogy  of the station which is to inform and  educate.

Independent Radio is expected to commerce commercial transmission in few weeks after approval from Nigeria broadcasting corporation, NBC.
