The palace of Oba Wahab Balogun, the ruler of Isheri-Olofin, in Isheri roundabout, Idimu, Lagos was razed by fire yesterday.
The fire, which was as a result of a power surge when power was restored to the area, wreaked havoc to a room in the eight-room bungalow in the palace. The Lagos State Emergency Management Agency (LASEMA) was able to put out the fire before it could escalate, but an unidentified man was rushed to a hospital to be treated for choking.
It is reported that the incident poses no threat of a reoccurrence.
