By Abdulgafar Oladimeji.
A Kano chieftain of the All Progressive Congress, APC and the state commissioner for rural development, Musa Iliyasu Kwankwaso on Wednesday said that the opposition Peoples Democratic Party, PDP has no recognized party leadership, noting that the development would lead to a dismal performance by the opposition at the forth coming local government elections come January 16th, 2020.
Kwankwaso said Kano PDP is grossly factionalized, adding that the factions are entangled in legal tussles over who should take control of the party leadership, stressing that the supporters of the opposition are enraged by these crisis and are now disenfranchised.
He said “ imagine how long now, former Kano state governor Rabiu Musa Kwankwaso and former minister of foreign affairs, Ambassador Aminu Wali are fighting to take control of PDP in Kano, they have dismantle their party, their heads are divided with different factional leadership, they don’t have a leader in Kano state because the matter is still in court, the court will have to decide.
“it is just less than eight weeks to the local government elections and they are still in court, when the elections take place and they are been walked over by our party, the APC, they will start shouting foul play everywhere, we are busy preparing for the elections they are busy fighting among themselves, ,Nigerians should take note.
Kwankwaso reassured APC loyalists that the ruling APC will capture all the 44 local government chairmanship seats, stating that aggrieved APC members have been pacified, he added that the party will approach the LG polls as one family.
He said former Kano state governor Rabiu Musa Kwankwaso is free to return to the APC, in his words “ Rabiu Kwankwaso is free to return back to APC, presently I am his greatest critic, but when that happens, I will be the first to embrace him and welcome him back to our great party APC, that is the beauty of democracy.”
