The South South Zone of the Peoples Democratic Party (PDP) has congratulated Alhaji Mohammed Abdulrahman on his appointment as the Acting National Chairman of the party, describing the development as a timely opportunity for renewal and reform within the PDP.
In a statement signed by the National Vice Chairman (South South), Chief Dan Osi Orbih, the zone hailed the appointment as “well-deserved” and a “golden opportunity” for the PDP to reassess its direction and restore internal democracy.
Orbih said the emergence of Alhaji Abdulrahman signals “the end of an era of impunity, lawlessness and undemocratic practices” that had undermined the party’s cohesion in recent times.
He expressed confidence in the new Acting National Chairman’s capacity to unite the party, promote fairness and justice, and rebuild trust among members across the country.
“The South South Zone remains firmly committed to the ideals of our great party and stands ready to support the new leadership in its efforts to reposition and strengthen the PDP,” the statement read.
Chief Orbih further assured that with collective effort, renewed commitment, and a shared vision, the PDP would emerge stronger and more resilient ahead of future elections.
