The 2023 presidential candidate of the African Action Congress (AAC), Omoyele Sowore, has announced that human rights lawyer, Dele Farotimi has been freed from detention.
In a post he made on his verified social media accounts on Tuesday, the lawyer is on his way back to his base, Lagos.
Sowore wrote, “I am pleased to report that Dele Farotimi is no longer being held at the prison yards in Ekiti state and is now returning home to Lagos. The struggle continues!”
Recall that Sowore had earlier disclosed that Farotimi, a human rights lawyer was arrested over allegations of cybercrime.
The activist was remanded in prison over an allegation of defamation against a senior lawyer, Afe Babalola (SAN) in his book, “Nigeria and its criminal justice system”.
