A rice dealer, Musbahu Musa on Monday dragged his business partner, Jamila Muhammed, before a Shari’a court sitting in Magajin Gari, Kaduna over N22,000 debt.

The complainant, Musa, told the court that he gave Muhammed one bag of rice on credit to resell.

He explained that she collected a bag of rice worth N22, 000 in March and failed to pay back the money.

On her part, the defendant said:” I do not ow N22,000. I know of N20,000. I will pay him N5, 000 every two weeks,’’ she said.

The judge, Mr. Murtala Nasir, adjourned the case until Sept. 27 for the complainant to present his witness on the actual amount of the debt.
