Photo of Cubana Chief Priest kneeling to VP Shettima sparks reactions online

A viral picture of nightlife socialite Pascal Okechukwu, popularly called Cubana Chiefpriest kneeling before Vice President Kashim Shettima has sparked a debate online.

While some social media users slammed the celebrity, others saw it as an opportunity to fraternise with the powers that be and protect his interest and businesses in Lagos.

Chief Priest posted the picture on his Insta story, tagging it, “Papa” and “LoyaltyNaWater”. In the picture, the nightlifer was kneeling before Shettima while the Vice President was busy on his phone.

This, however, didn’t sit well with some netizens who believed that the celebrity should have been loyal to the 2023 presidential candidate of the Labour Party, Peter Obi, instead.

Chief Priest’s body language has been pointing towards support for President Bola Tinubu’s administration as he recently rocked the signature cap of the president to the 50th birthday party of his ally, Obi Cubana.

Reacting to the picture, a netizen, Thoney Apapa stated that the celebrity has changed the popular notion that men from Southeast Nigeria don’t kneel to anyone.

He wrote, “But dem say Igbo man no dey kneel for another person, not even to greet. And dem use an dey enter one particular tribe say dem kneel before leaders, say na sign of weakness. Paschal has changed the narrative.

Another social media user, “Amarachi Christopher said, Igbo Man. He’s just paying his dues 😂😂 Business strategy. If you know, you know 💯”

“Igbo man and money, if them tell am make them arrest peter obi, e go arrange am sharp sharp,” Lucky Desmond alleged.

Fidelia ThankGod said, “Which one be kneel down wey una come dey vex, for this Nigeria wey everybody dey find their way, if na me I fall even lye down sef😒”

Defending the celebrity, Sanusi Oladapo wrote, “Keep criticizing him with your account balance like radio Lagos. While he keeps making ways for himself and his family.”

“Lagos wan frustrate baba investments… So he needs to involve higher powers
Kabash 😎,” were the words of Marshal Mary. (sic)
